Seismic Imaging and Monitoring at GEUS
We offer the full range of solutions from survey design to geological interpretation for applications such as CO₂ storage, geothermal energy, mineral exploration, geohazards and groundwater management.
High-resolution seismic imaging of subsurface structures, combined with geological interpretation, is essential for applications such as CO₂ storage and geothermal energy.
Observation of both natural and induced earthquakes are important for many uses of the subsurface.
Marine seismic data acquisition is the tool of choice to obtain detailed images of subsurface structure including physical properties in offshore areas.
We provide advanced geophysical solutions specializing in land and marine seismic studies and earthquake monitoring — delivering reliable data to support the green transition, mineral exploration and risk mitigation efforts.

In May 2025 we did active and passive seismic acquisition at Møn, Denmark, to image the impressive glaciotectonic complex which raises up to 128 above sea level along the coast.

In October 2024, the Seismic imaging and monitoring group provided the vibroseis source for 25 km 2D profiles for an evaluation of the potential for geothermal energy in the island of Lesbos.
Upon receipt of new land seismic equipment in 2024, we did a small 2D seismic acquisition to evaluate the data quality and processing results.

Monitoring for micro earthquakes at the Stenlille underground gas storage facility, Denmark.
The work offered by the Seismic imaging and monitoring group at GEUS is based on extensive scientific knowledge and innovation.
