Seismic acquisition for geothermal energy near Storvorde, Jutland
Acquisition of 80 km of 2D seismic data along eight profiles near Storvorde, northern Jutland. We used a single 16.5 tonnes vibroseis truck as the source and 1200 wireless nodes laid out at 10 meter interval. The target depth was 4-5 km, to image the deep subsurface prior to the drilling of a geothermal well in Storvorde.
The acquisition was carried out during March and April 2026 with assitance from geoscience students from the universities in Aalborg, Aarhus and Copenhagen.
